Grandma's visit

My mom flew in from California last week to help us out with Joshua and Alexander and to get settled a bit after Josh's birth. She was great to have around as she did laundry and cooked and was a general good person to have around during the first few days with are newborn. It was fun to see her interact with Alex and josh and brought back lots of memories on how she dealt with me when I was young. Alex was showing off for her and was generally a good boy but he did have some moments. I think my mother really enjoyed seeing the boys and has been a great help to Emilynda and I and don't know what we would do if she hadn't come to help. I dropped her at the airport this morning and it is always sad to see her go but we hope to visit her and Paul this summer. Her is a pic of her and Joshua.

Going smoothly

It has been two days with Joshua home and things so far are going ok. Not super but ok. Alex has been great with his new brother and loves to pose for pics with him. Alex has also been very helpful and I have realized now how far he has come since he was a infant. Josh is up to this point been easier then Alex was but I think that is due to us knowing what to expect now. We know we are going to lose a bit of sleep but that is no big deal. Love having two Boys and how lucky is that!?

Welcome Joshua Robert !!!

It started at 11:15 last night and Emilynda did not get me up until 4:30 this morning to tell me she was having contractions 5mins apart. So I called the doctor and he sent us to the hospital and at 8:20 this morning or second little buddy came into the world. At a whopping 9lbs 4oz and remember my wife is only 4'10" tall and 90 pounds so this was a biggie for her. We are so blessed to have another beautiful healthy boy. Here are a few pics to keep you all happy. More later.

T-minus 3 days

Really close now. Emilynda has been having those Brackston-Hicks contraction pains all day and she is tensing up almost every hour now. Tonight could be the night for our second little boy. I hope for her sake he comes soon and gives my wife a relief from her uncomfortable state. We are excited to meet Joshua and get on with things. We have all the necessary baby stuff unpacked and ready to go. Her bag is by the door and all the applicable paper work is enclosed inside. Now all we are doing is waiting for Thursday morning or for Emilynda to go into labor. We took some choice pics of her belly today and she is larger now then she was with Alex and that is hard to grasp. My next entry hopefully to my blog will be that he is here. Wish us luck!

Home bound

Mommy finally decided to call it quits from work while we wait for Joshua to arrive. She is really big as I have said in many posts but she really is. I was looking at some pics of her belly from Alexander and it seems to be the same but boy it seems bigger some how. My mother is flying in on Tuesday to help with things and we are looking forward to that. We all took naps today as I guess we needed it and the cold rainy weather today has prompted a nice afternoon slumber as well. Here is a pic of the boy yesterday during the balmy warm 80 degree day.

First time

It was a first time for us as we sat in the house on Saturday evening all alone just the two of us and Alex was off with his cousins to play. We haven't had Alex out of our site since he was born so it was strange but also nice. He did fine and was happy as a bee they said when I picked him up about 3hrs later. It was great to see his face light up when he saw me. It is good to know that he can go places and be comfortable with others he knows and is assured that we will come back for him. Dang! we should have gone to a movie or something but instead we just sat and looked at each other.

Things to remember

Things to remember about my little buddy are important. I just got done reading an article in DAD CENTER from a fellow stay at home dad of mine and really got to thinking how much our little boy has grown and changed. The things he mentions are all too familiar for me as well such as developing a little personality and able to care for himself more like feeding and dressing. With the pending arrival of our second son I hope that Alex will enjoy the ride with us as we see another little baby grow and develop. Thanks Dennis for a good read this morning.

Gettin-close

My wife is feeling really really big now and very uncomfortable. She had a visit to the doctor yesterday and said she would like to have Joshua taken out now. But her Dr. said sure he can come out now just go into labor and we will be set. That's not what the wify wanted to hear. So all systems are go for the 22nd of this month.
I also have been unpacking all the baby gear and clothes that we have and that has brought me some joy and fond memories of our little Alex. All we need now is to go get the second car seat and we will be set for the new arrival.

The wait continues

Emilynda has felt very funny all night. She said she didn't sleep and was not hungry this morning and that is unusual for her. Her appointment with the doctor went well on Tuesday but she (the doctor) did say that our little buddy didn't have any more room to grow. We have just 21 more days until the scheduled C-section and now that seems like a long wait. Also we just got a call from my brother in law and they are at the hospital right now giving birth to their first child. I don't think it was a coincidence that Emilynda felt funny all night. They elected not to know the sex before hand so we are all anxious to know. My wife is jealous as she wants Joshua out now! She is so big it would only take a slight bump and her belly would pop!
