Much better

We are all getting back to normal after our sicknesses. I've been to the gym a few times this week and I feel good about that. Emilynda went back to work today so it is me and the kiddo again and back to normal. Alex is also feeling great as his appatite has returned and he is also learning to self feed. He still has that nasty habit of spiting out his food when he is done. We haven't figured out to correct that yet. We give him a firm "NO" to try to discourge that behavior.

Sick, Sick and more Sick

We all are one antiboitics now! Alex is back to his happy self but his mommy has a sinus infection and I have the start to one. The new year should be a clean one for us with all the crap out of the way. I need to be more diligent in the future on hand washing to help prevent stuff like this. It has been a wild two weeks.

holiday chill-out

Christmas was another success for us. We had lots of family bonding, football and beer. The Redskins gave me my first present as they continued their winning streak by thumping the Giants 35 -20 and the week before spanking the Cowboys 36-7. We recieved many fun gifts for our little Alex including a neat pair of Carhart work overalls from his aunt Molly. A highlight for me was waking up early on Christmas eve to bake eggnog bread for us to eat in the morning and it turned out great. I also had a good time with Alex and my wife as we watched "The Polar Express" on the eve of our Christ's birth. I think I will make that a family tradition for us each Christmas. I was told by a new friend that I should savor these moments now with my son as they grow up fast. I shall make that one of my new years resolutions.

Christmas

My wife has caught our sons cold/flu so now we plan to spend the holiday at home. For me that is just as well as I don't much care for piling in the car and go running around. I do like my relatives but I like to be home in my comfort zone for the holidays. Alex still has a bad hack and Emilynda is nursing a sore throat.
Are family feels really blessed as we have a nice home to live and always enough food in it to eat. It is always fun to give at this time of year and the older I get the more I get that. Alex is so fun with every passing day and his presents are going to be just as fun for us as they will be for him. The big game is on at 1pm so I look forward to spending it playing with him on the floor and cheering on the skins.

Sick Boy update

Went to the doctor yesterday and he has two ear infections and a soar throat. He is on an antibiotic for the ears and unconditional love for the rest. He selpt much better lastnight and we all look forward to his return to normal. I was not prepaired for the feeling of helplesness when it comes to a sick child. It was very hard and still is to see him so sick. The cough alone is enough to rip your heart out. He is sleeping great right now so it will give me a chance to clean house and catch up on that ever mounting laundry. A house husbands work is never done!!

Sick Boy

Alex was sick for the first time in his life and I guess we were long over due. He is only fifteen months old and has not had so much as a snifel untill now. He started with a hack of sorts and then got a fever and before the day was done he puked on me twice. Oh how I love fatherhood. His temperature has been right around 100 or so. Not good. We are just tring to keep him warm and comfortable. Emilynda took the day off to help care for him. We know breast milk is very good for the little trooperand he'll be able to drink all day and fight this cold.
