Blah Blah

Been a very hot week but now the heat has seemed to subside a bit. Alex and I spent the day indoors on Tuesday as it was a code red day and a heat index of 106. We plan to go to the lake today and have a picnic and a good play at the playground. We have a playdate with a close friend of mine and my wife. Yesterday we went to see an old friend and had a fun hike at a local park. Summer is grand but very hot at times. Alex and I have fun in his little pool in the back yard on these hot afternoons. Yeah.

Fishing

Me and my little buddy went fishing today. We hadn't been in awhile so we were do. The day started out hot and humid and continued through out the day. I got a couple of nibbles on the line but no takers. It was still fun to get out in my water shoes and cast a few. Alex had a good time so it seemed even though he had a meltdown when we passed a playground and didn't stop. He also kicked off a shoe and we had to go back track our steps to find it. We found it where he had his meltdown; surprise, surprise. Next week we are going on a longer hike and that I am looking forward to.

Brewing

I brewed my first batch of beer Sunday and what fun it was. To smell the malt extract and the grains blending together with the hops was a truly relaxing time indeed. I had brewed once before back in the mid 80's and had forgotten how fun it was. I got started back brewing from a fellow stay ay home dad in Duluth who gave the bug to me. The equipment was not to terrible in price as compared to other hobbies I have but it will be fun to savor a home brew of my own crafting in a month. The next challenge is to find bottles to store my creation in when the time comes. I thirsty and I think I'll have an early 5pm brew. Life is good!

Early riser

We awoke to the fun romping of our little boy this morning at the wonderful hour of 6am! He was so full of energy that it was really kind of creepy. So with that I got up and started my day to the dismay of my wife who silly thought that this little funny monkey was going to go back to bed for another hour. Yeh right like like that will surely happen. But after I was up I felt better and may do this every morning as opposed the getting up 5min's before the wify has to go to work and rush like crazy people. Had a nice breakfast and good quality time with the family unit before wify went to work. I even put together the table and chairs for Alex that we bought from Ikea on Friday and all before 8:30am! Now where is my coffeeeeeee!!!

Dad Time

Weekends are supposed to be for me to get a few things done around the house but as of late that has not happened. I have been busy doing other peoples projects instead of my own. I do get paid well mind you but the stuff around here is starting to pile up. I love my wife to death but when I am home it is always a battle to get in me time with-out a call from the queen to do this or that. I don't know about some of you but that new movie Click would be a cool gadget to have during the weekend. Just click the wify and do my stuff and then un-click her or not.
