High risks

Being a stay at home dad has its inherent risks such as out of control poop, crabby toddlers, late dinners ect. But these risks are mild in comparison to the health risks of being a stay at home dad. This prediction according to an article reviewed by a friend of mine over at inside fatherhood. fatherhood blog Well I am unfortunately at this risk as my cholesterol is at 500+ and my triglycerides at 1600+ . So now I am back to a regular exercise schedule and watching what I put in my stomach. Wish me luck everyone and I have a follow up in 6 weeks.

Burke Lake Outing

A couple of choice pic's of the day!

Brewing Fun

Have you ever tried brewing beer with a Toddler? Well nor have I but doing it on a cool Saturday is truly lots of fun. Last weekend it was a honey Porter and will be ready to consume in about a month or so. It is a dark malty type of brew so I am told and look forward to drinking it. I also bottled a American amber last week while Alex was napping and that should be ready the day of Thanksgiving for an added treat for the day. Brewing your own beer is not really a Stay at home parent topic but it does have some similer things. One being that during the brew you must watch over the batch to prevent it from boiling over which is similer to a toddler meltdown. Second a batch of good brew takes tender loving care as does a well behaved toddler. And lastly a sip of good home brew is very satisfying as is a goodnight hug and kiss from your loving toddler.

Holloween

We had a great time yesterday on our holloween adventures. We first went to a George Mason University party for the kids and got a fun seat in a fire truck. Also had time for a cute pic of the boy on a hay bail. After that we went to gramdpa's house for some trick or treat fun and help grandma maryann pass out treats to the little goblins. Then it was back home for a little visit to the neiborhood and a movie. The weather was graet and a fun time.
