I fellow SAHD REM at Silly Dad wrote about his experience with today's athletes in the Olympics and the seemingly selfishness of some athletes. I tend to agree with him but we must realize that these olyipians are very young and still learning how to be good people of this country and it is a coaches job as well as their parents to teach them to be good sportsman and sportswoman. I would have liked to seen more compassion on Emilys Hughes part but then again she just turned 16 and for Bodie Miller well he is what he is and really doesn't know any better. I have faith that these kids will grow and learn with time and come to appreciate their good fortune in the future. On the other side how about Cheeks giving his Olympic Bonus to charity after he won gold. Now that's a great role model and a little more wiser in years too.
The games are a great thing to share with your kids and family as I to remember Franz Klomer winning the men's downhill and trying to replicate him as a kid. Great times and fond memories..
